On the Radar: Halsey - Badlands

I've been saying this for months now, but only finally got around to putting this post together - Halsey is the next name you need to be acquainted with (if you haven't already!)

Already in line to join the Weeknd on his latest "The Madness Fall Tour" and being recently featured on Justin Bieber's new album on the track "The Feeling," there is little denying that her unique sultry voice when paired with the right beat, checks off all the makings of an addictive hit.

Not taking anything away from her own debut studio record "The Badlands" which was released back at the end of August, Halsey has showed us only a glimpse of the potential she brings as well as excitement that she has a lot more to offer as an artist breaking into the industry. Although reminding me a lot of indie Banks when she first started with a tad bit of pop influence from Ellie Goulding, Halsey is unique in her own right - some are now calling it the new synthpop/indie pop sound.

If you haven't heard of her already, get ready to brace yourself with her voice being heard all over the radio very soon. I would be bold enough to say that she may be in contention for breakout artist of the year... Nonetheless, I'll let you decide as you give her a listen for yourself!

Favorite tracks on the album:
- Ghost
- New Americana
- Hold Me Down
- Hurricane

For those living in Vancouver and are unaware, she is actually coming to Vancouver twice before the end of the year! If you're reading this, you may be already too late to see her perform on her Badlands tour (it's been selling out everywhere quick!) as it was last night at the Rio theater - a more intimate setting for her fans. However, she is coming back very soon to perform at Rogers Arena on December 2nd along side the Weeknd and Travi$ Scott. There aren't many tickets left for that concert, but hurry, you might not miss out on the second chance to see her live!
