"Fictional Archaeology" Art Exhibition

Drawing inspiration from the plaster casts of the Pompeian victims back when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD, artist Daniel Arsham creates his latest installation of eroded contemporary human sculptures paired with modern artifacts.

Titled "Fictional Archaeology," the installation appears to portray the futuristic archaeological wasteland given the fading existence of humanity as technology, consumerism and pollution cloud the contemporary being.

The detail displayed in each of the plaster pieces shows appreciable precision and care to the extent of successfully capturing a sense of emotion frozen in time. As with all of life's moments, time and space are simply aspects of relativity.
