The Clippers Getting Clipped

"In my opinion, I think relationships is the key to everything in barbering. Every time somebody sits in my hair, I honestly feel like I have about 30 minutes to gain somebody's trust."

There is something very true about the statement above.

Barbering is very much so about finding the right person you can trust to execute the look that you imagined yourself having in your head to appearing in front of you as you stare at yourself in the mirror after a cut. After the long trial and error of finding that right person, one can guarantee that you will stay loyal to that person because a level of trust in that relationship has been built.

LA barber JayR recounts his humble beginnings as one who started cutting because he wanted to earn a couple extra dollars to buy his favorite pair of sneakers since he was only allowed one pair from his parents each year. His early hustle in 6th grade soon turned into a passion for turning chair conversations to long lasting relationships in which he still cuts the hair of those who first visited him in his low-key barbershop in his family home's garage. A place of fond memories and a careful reminder to work hard to achieve your dreams and to stay loyal to those who stood by your side when you were a nobody trying to make it big, barbering has become more than just a job.
