On the Radar: Wale - The Album About Nothing

The Washington DC rapper, Wale, makes his triumphant return with his fourth studio album "The Album About Nothing."

Having putting out few to none hits and more misses off his last couple albums, one can honestly say that people have started to question whether Wale really has that bad boy ambition we have grown to love and what it takes after dropping his Lotus Flower Bomb hit... Through this album, Wale really makes a solid statement in proving his doubters wrong. Wale is back.

Notably sampling off multiple Seinfeld clips/dialogues and reportedly working very closely with Jerry Seinfeld, who he grew up watching as a kid, Wale not only pays homage to his childhood favorite show, but through this, brings a more refined album to the table.

Using music as the medium, Wale successfully brings to light some of the struggles a Black American faces in respect to all the news and media surfacing over Black Americans being treated unjustly over the past couple months as well as the Black American neighborhood hood crimes that still occur regularly. Wale paints a very real picture of life lessons he has personally learned through the years (as reflected through Seinfeld episodes) and weaves this story behind well-produced beats to create this 14-track album collection.

Favorite tracks on the album:
- The Pessimist (feat. J. Cole)
- The Bloom (AG3)
- The Need To Know (feat. SZA)
- Girls on Drugs
- The Matrimony (feat. Usher)
- The White Shoes
- The Helium Balloon
- The Intro About Nothing
- The One Time in Houston
- The Success
- The Middle Finger

(Can you tell I like quite a few tracks off this album?)

Really give the album a listen and open your mind to the harder NYC rap Wale brings.
