Leonard & Church Kickstarter

One of my pet peeves in any type of industry is when companies or brands dominate the market in a way that makes the consumer feel like if they don't buy from them, there is no other selection out there.

As a consumer, the feeling of a company or brand monopolizing a particular market is unappealing to me because there are indeed other brands out there that the public consumer has just never explored before. Although smaller brands may not be as popular to the general public or have the funds to constantly put themselves out there on large billboards or air on TV commercials, many of their products are still of the same type of quality as the products pushed forth by the larger brands, but likely at a lower or more reasonable price point. Because a typical consumer does not put the time in doing their research in seeing what is actually out in the market, they get sucked into thinking that those large popular brands are the only products that are worth buying - simply based on the merit that because everyone has it, the quality must be good.

This is why I fully support the Kickstarter for the up and coming watch-wear brand, Leonard & Church. They have run across this same problem in the watch-wear market where they have realized that many of the large watch-wear companies today have created a difficult environment for luxury watch-wear enthusiasts to buy a high quality watch without having to fork out a lot of money. This has become the reason why Leonard & Church was born - to provide another way for the public to buy a luxury watch without sacrificing the promise of quality and elegant, classic designs. They hope to break through from this cycle in providing a way for consumers to buy a beautifully designed luxury watch without any retail markups or middlemen that work to drive up the price point of the watch.
